Julie With Sunflowers 600x400 about julie wilcox Julie Wilcox, The Julie Wilcox Method

With The Julie Wilcox Method, my mission is to help my clients evolve outwardly and inwardly, slowly and with discipline. I believe that there is almost always a way to remain fit and well.

Julie created The Julie Wilcox Method (The JWM) as an innovative approach to healthy living combining fitness, yoga, and nutrition. An expert across all three categories, she brings together athleticism, the calming and philosophical aspects of yoga, and healthy, moderate, sustainable diet advice. While many health and wellness experts in each field focus on one lifestyle element only–fitness, yoga, or food– the sum of Julie’s approach is a comprehensive experience.

Fitness

Julie is a modern athlete continually exploring traditional and new forms of exercise. From running, cycling, skiing, and swimming, to trends in fitness such as Power Plates, Zoomba, and CrossFit, she offers a complete educational guidebook for getting into and staying in incredible shape.

Yoga

Julie offers a fresh, easily accessible, and multi-faceted approach to all elements of yoga for anyone anywhere. She specializes in teaching well-balanced open classes to students of all levels in addition to core flow classes for intermediate and advanced yoga students. She has a wonderful roster of dedicated private clients from all walks of life to whom she caters her instruction.

As a devoted student and passionate teacher, Julie has been immersed in the practice and teachings of yoga for eighteen years. Having studied extensively under renowned yoga masters and a former gymnast and dancer, Julie teaches vinyasa flow classes with an emphasis on strength-building, flexibility enhancement, alignment, breath, meditation, Ayurvedic principles, and the philosophy of yoga.

Julie discovered yoga at Jivamukti and completed her professional yoga teaching certification at Yoga Works in 2006. She started her yoga career at Sports Club LA and Yoga Works, and then co-founded ISHTA Yoga. Julie teaches classes, private lessons, corporate groups, workshops, and teacher trainings. Julie taught at Kripalu (2010), The New York Yoga Journal Conference (2011), and The Omega Institute (2012).

Food

Throughout her life from athlete to yogi, Julie has maintained a healthy diet keeping up with the latest research on nutrition and collaborating with nutritionists and doctors. She integrates her existing knowledge with cutting edge material to spread awareness about how to achieve a healthy and balanced diet.

Bringing It All Together

Julie planted the seeds for The Julie Wilcox Method so that she could share her life-long formula–fitness + yoga + food= the optimal approach to feeling balanced and healthy– with others to help them achieve the highest level of well-being.

Julie explains her inspiration for the JWM:

In my line of work as well as in my every day life, I am frequently asked by clients and friends how to tone arms and abs, how to become more flexible, how to eat, and what kind of exercise to do. Many have also recognized the internal changes in me that have allowed me to be more present and to operate more efficiently in all aspects of my life; they are curious to know my secrets. In this website, I aspire to give some answers so that everyone can join me on my life’s journey to be optimally healthy, well, and happy.
