Nutrition Coaching and Counseling
My nutrition philosophy is grounded in science and delivers evidence-based solutions, tips, and practical tools you can implement into your daily living. As a nutritionist, my purpose is to help you understand and navigate the different avenues of plant-based eating. I offer strategies, meal plans, and recipes to help you transition from an omnivorous diet to a meat-reduced or meat-free diet, focusing on four common eating patterns: flexitarian, pescatarian, vegetarian, and vegan. My goal is to be by your side to help you discover and implement the diet that best suits your personal needs so that you not only feel confident in yourself and your body, but also healthy and energetically balanced. Studies show that plant-based diets can reduce and even reverse heart disease, diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, stroke, auto-immune disease and so much more, while lowering all-cause mortality.
Yoga and Fitness
As a yoga and fitness teacher, I meet you where you are. Whether you’re new to exercise, an advanced practitioner, injured, suffering from a chronic disease, want to lose weight, are pregnant, postpartum, or simply seek to improve your health, de-stress, lower your anxiety levels, emerge from depression, or cope with the realities of aging, I have seen it all. I have also experienced it first-hand personally. I am here for you. I can help you. I believe in cross-training as the key to optimal health and well-being whether gardening and strolling, or running marathons and surfing giant waves. There's something for everyone and together we will find your passion.
And here's a little bit more about me...
I was an Olympic aspiring gymnast as child and trained under Russian coaches. It was brutal but imbued me with early and lifelong knowledge about health and wellness of body, mind, and spirit. Now, I am a mom with a fourteen year-old daughter I love to death. We live in New York City, where I also grew up. In addition to cooking great meals at home and eating out, I love many forms of exercise such as yoga, running, tennis, skiing, hiking, and surfing to name a few favorites. My daughter joins me in pretty much all of my adventures. Five years ago, I went back to school at age forty and earned my Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at NYU. A decade prior, I completed my national certifications in yoga and fitness training through Yoga Alliance of American and ACE™. Before that I completed my A.B. at Harvard College in English and American Literature and MFA in Directing at the American Film Institute. I was a journalist and then media producer throughout most of twenties until I found my true calling in health and wellness.
